The Provost’s Scholarship Development Award is an internal grant sponsored by the Office of the Provost.
The purpose of this grant is to provide monetary support for research and scholarship development, and proposal submissions are open to faculty in any discipline. Proposals are expected to generate preliminary data or activity that leads to external funding or expand the scope of a currently funded project. Funds are intended to:
Research Council members review submissions with panel review facilitated by the Office of Research Administration staff. The panel provides feedback on all proposals in order to better applicants’ proposals before submitting to external grants before choosing winners for the Provost’s Award.
Awards are usually given out twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. However, due to Covid-19 and subsequential limited resources, the 2020-2021 year only permitted one round in the fall semester.
The next deadline for the Provost’s Award is October 1, 2021.
