Business Administration and Law

The WCU Business Administration and Law Program offers students a quality education in the area of business administration and law, business policy, and strategy through teaching, research, and service. The program鈥檚 undergraduate degree is unique to the University of North Carolina system. The degree provides majors with a solid background in business, as well as the pre-law foundation necessary for law school. Graduates are perfectly positioned for advanced study or careers in a variety of industries, including advertising, banking, law, healthcare administration and risk management.

What You'll Learn

The degree program allows students to develop a comprehensive background in business theory, application and practice by way of a rigorous curriculum taught by enthusiastic faculty members. The business core includes courses from multiple disciplines, including accounting, finance and marketing. The major includes courses such as Business Organization, Contracts and Sales Credits, International Business Law, Bankruptcy, and Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibility. In addition to curriculum-based learning opportunities, students may choose to participate in the Business and Law Society and the Campus Mediation Society, both of which are open to all students.

From financial institutions and law and manufacturing firms to health care, non-profit and sales organizations, graduates begin their careers in a wide range of employment settings due to their education and experience. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall employment in business and financial occupations is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2022 to 2032.
