The scholarship application opens annually on October 1st
Undergraduate applications are due February 1; graduate and doctoral applications are due August 1 (deadlines may vary by program).
Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµapp offers numerous scholarships supporting a wide variety student types and fields of study. In addition, WCU’s scholarship support staff work to connect students with state-administered scholarship opportunities and others.

Scholarship Opportunities for Incoming Students
If you’re a high school senior applying to WCU as a first-year student for summer or fall 2026, or a student transferring from a North Carolina community college, be sure to explore these scholarship opportunities:

Engage Scholarship – for high school seniors entering as first-year students

Catamount Commitment – available to both first-year students and NC community college transfer students

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship – for PTK members transferring to WCU


How to apply for WCU Scholarships
- Log into myWCU
- Click the Scholarship Manager link found in the My Apps box
- Complete the WCU Scholarship Application
- Check your myWCU account for any additional tasks (i.e. supplemental responses, essays, letters of recommendation, etc)
- Based on the information provided in the application, you will be placed in the applicant pool for each scholarship for which you are eligible.
- Scholarship committees will review applications for each pool and select scholarship recipient(s)
- Undergraduate decisions are typically made between March and June 30
