Online RN to BSN Program

Having a BSN enhances your RN knowledge and competencies needed for the ever-changing healthcare environment. Now more than ever, nurses prepared at the baccalaureate and master鈥檚 level are in great demand by healthcare employers. Our faculty is invested in nurturing students as they prepare for their roles as they prepare to advance their career.

The RN to BSN consideration deadline to have a university acceptance, all official transcripts, and a secondary program application in for fall is March 15th, and for spring is September 15th. Students who do not have all components completed, will not be able to be considered. We would recommend students start their application by February 20th for fall semesters, and August 20th for spring semesters to ensure you can meet these deadlines. Our 100 percent online RN to BSN program allows registered nurses (RNs) to build upon their basic nursing education, broaden their perspective of current clinical practice, enhance their leadership potential, and prepare for graduate study in nursing by earning a Bachelor鈥檚 of Science in Nursing (BSN) in only 4 semesters.

We offer information sessions for our RN to BSN program. Please note, the deadlines are firm for this program, and require students to have a university acceptance, all official transcripts, and a program application in for possible consideration by the deadline.

The fall deadline is March 15th. The spring deadline is September 15. This program does not admit for summer semester.

Learn While You Work

100 percent of classwork is online. The easy access to coursework and classes allows you to complete your BSN and work simultaneousy.

Reduced Tuition Through NC Promise: Use Your Advantage

At WCU, tuition for all undergraduate students has been reduced to $500 per fall and spring semesters for in-state students and $2,500 for out-of-state students. This is made possible through the State of North Carolina's NC Promise program - to learn more visit Distance Learning Tuition and Fees.

For the RN to BSN program this means, most nurses can complete this degree program in under $5,000.

Curriculum

Students will complete the following on a part-time basis in only 4 semesters:

24 hours of online core WCU RN to BSN courses

6 hours of upper-division online WCU electives

Total: 30 hours

The Process

This program has very specific deadlines and requirements for possible admission. Students who wish to apply for RN To BSN at WCU, must have a university acceptnace, all official transcripts, and a program application in by the deadline for each fall or spring semester to be considered for possible admission. The fall deadline is March 15th. The spring deadline is September 15.

International applicants

Students with international college level credit need to have their transcripts evaluated by

International applicants are required to still have an unencumbered and active US RN license for this program.

We would also recommend students with international credit reach out distance@wcu.edu for a preliminary evaluation, as most students with international credits do not meet minimum prerequisites for the program itself.
