The Princeton Reviewâs âBest Business Schools for 2022â list recognizes Western Carolina Universityâs College of Business among the best on-campus programs for students to earn a masterâs degree in business administration.
The New York City-based education services company, not affiliated with Princeton University, included WCU in .
According to the company, its list of the best on-campus MBA programs is based on institutional data such as career outcomes, admissions selectivity and academic rigor as well as surveys of school administrators and nearly 19,000 students.
The MBA program at WCU is fully-accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the internationally-recognized accrediting agency for business schools. Designed in collaboration with regional employers, the program engages students with businesses through tours, internships and guest speakers, adding networking opportunities to in-class experiences.
The program also offers flexible enrollment so students may attend full or part time in a hybrid format. The 36-hour MBA curriculum can be completed by full-time students in three semesters and by part-time students in six semesters. No prerequisite courses are required, but incoming MBA students must attend an intensive âboot campâ offered over seven evenings to cover the basics of accounting, math, economics and Excel.
Students surveyed by The Princeton Review praised the MBA program for its smaller size, learning opportunities and personal attention from âexcellent, accessible professors with relevant professional experience.â
âThe hard work that our faculty have put into WCUâs MBA is reflected in this ranking,â said AJ Grube, dean for WCUâs College of Business. âFaculty designed a flexible MBA curriculum in collaboration with employers in Western North Carolina and recent MBA graduates. So, our students are truly âbusiness readyâ upon completion of the degree. I couldnât be prouder of our faculty, our students and our business community.â
The Graduate School is holding a virtual open house from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, April 21 for prospective students. For more information about the MBA program, contact program manager Kelly McIntyre at 828-654-6533 or kumcintyre@wcu.edu.
