Like a baseball team鈥檚 manager gearing up for spring training, the folks in the Western  Carolina University Office of Alumni Engagement are sharpening their pencils and setting the starting lineup for the second annual Ballparks and Brews Tour.

Launched last year, the event is designed to bring together members of the WCU family for a series of gatherings at baseball stadiums across the Southeast. The 2026 season features six stops on the schedule in May and June, including visits to one Major League Baseball stadium, four Minor League Baseball parks and the Southern Conference Baseball Tournament.

"We had an incredible response to our inaugural Ballparks and Brews Tour, providing members of the Catamount nation an opportunity to come together and enjoy an evening at ballparks in their local regions,鈥� said Stacey Miller, WCU senior director of alumni engagement.

鈥淎s with last year鈥檚 series, we will be reserving a special WCU section at each venue for folks to take in the game and socialize with other members of the university community,鈥� said Miller. 鈥淣ew for this year, several of our college deans, coaches and university leadership will be on hand to provide updates about recent developments in their departments and programs.鈥�

The 2026 Ballparks and Brews Tour schedule:

Saturday, May 16 鈥� Atlanta Braves at Truist Park; first pitch at 7:15 p.m. vs. the Boston Red Sox; featuring happy hour from 4-7 p.m. at the Punch Bowl Social in 鈥淭he Battery鈥� adjacent to the park, discounted ticket prices in the WCU alumni section. $60.

Thursday, May 28 鈥� Greensboro Grasshoppers at First National Bank Field; first pitch at 6:30 p.m. vs. the Hub City Spartanburgers; featuring discounted ticket prices in the WCU alumni section, access to an exclusive happy hour event and $10 in ballpark cash. $20.

Friday, May 29 鈥� Kannapolis Cannon Ballers at Atrium Health Ballpark; first pitch at 7 p.m. vs. the Augusta GreenJackets; featuring discounted ticket prices in the WCU alumni section, access to an exclusive happy hour event and $10 in ballpark cash. $15.

Thursday, June 4 鈥� Asheville Tourists at the newly renovated McCormick Field; first pitch at 6:35 p.m. vs. the Greensboro Grasshoppers; featuring discounted ticket prices in the Best Buy Metal Pavillion, access to an exclusive happy hour event, a buffet dinner and cash bar. $25.

Friday, June 5 鈥� Hickory Crawdads at LP Frans Stadium; first pitch at 7 p.m. vs. the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers; featuring discounted ticket prices in the WCU alumni section and $10 in ballpark cash. $10.

In addition, the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Catamount Club will host a section as 甜瓜视频app鈥檚 Catamounts compete in the Southern Conference Baseball Tournament at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina. The date is to be determined, and first pitch time and opponent will not be known until the conclusion of the conference regular season. The tentative schedule has the tournament beginning Tuesday, May 19.
