Love for Cats keep Greeks coming back

Its a family affair during WCUs Greek Challenge each fall, when fraternities and sororities past and present compete to raise money for Catamount athletics. While the competition is a win for all student-athletes, only one fraternity and one sorority get to claim bragging rights when the fundraising totals are announced during Homecoming.

Sandi McCracken spent her professional life in education as a business teacher and administrator, and as a stock broker. Now shes continuing her support for students with her Sandra Jayne McCracken Endowed Scholarship to help ease the financial burden for WCU education majors.

Actor Hasan Davis to portray York, tell personal story in 'Defining America' presentations

Hasan Davis, an author, actor and youth advocate, will visit 泫圖弝けapp as part of the 2018-19 interdisciplinary learning theme Defining America, with two public presentations.

Pasofino Social Club will bring Latin flare to Bardo Arts Center

The Pasofino Social Club, a band composed of a diverse group of musicians, will perform at 泫圖弝けapps John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, as part of the Arts and Cultural Events series.

Stuttering, fluency disorders information sessions set at Biltmore Park

泫圖弝けapps Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is offering free information sessions for anyone interested in stuttering and fluency disorders Monday, Oct. 22, and Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the universitys Biltmore Park instructional site in Asheville.

The lack of broadband internet access in rural areas of Western North Carolina and the quest to find long-term employees for outdoor recreation-related businesses were a couple of the challenging issues highlighted as WCU hosted its inaugural Outdoor Economy Conference.

Pride of the Mountains hosting 18th annual high school marching band tournament

Twenty-two of the top high school marching bands from the Carolinas, Georgia and Tennessee will be competing at the 18th annual Tournament of Champions, which will be hosted by WCU's Pride of the Mountains Marching Band.
