
Catamount Philanthropy Council
What is the Catamount Philanthropy Council?
The Catamount Philanthropy Council is a diverse group of select WCU students who possess strong leadership, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. This group is designed to strengthen the relationship between current students and alumni of Western Carolina University. These students work together to spread enthusiasm, energy, and help uphold traditions of WCU. The CPC serves as the student voice of the University to a variety of external and internal constituents.
Requirements to Apply:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- You must be at least a second semester Freshman
- You must have a minimum of 2 semesters remaining at WCU
Council Duties:
- Attend CPC Meetings (quarterly)
- Volunteer for at least 1 tabling or event during the academic year
- Serve as a social media ambassador for the Office of Advancement

- Further develop your interpersonal, communication, & Leadership skills
- Add the Leadership position to your resume
- Attend specific Alumni Events
- Network with other WCU Alumni, Students, & Friends
- Make an impact by advocating on behalf of students regarding student philanthropy initiatives on campus

- VIP Access to select Advancement events
- VIP Access to WCU Alumni Engagement Swag
- A certificate of recognition from the Vice Chancellor of Advancement
