The Fund for WCU, previously known as The Loyalty Fund, provides immediate support for Western's greatest needs.  

The Fund for WCU allows for flexibility in how funds are distributed, which means that your contributions fund urgent and impactful needs across campus and in the community. Two of the several areas that The Fund for WCU supports include the Catamount Commitment and 1889 Impact Grants. 

 Catamount Commitment 

The Catamount Commitment is Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵapp’s merit-based scholarship program for incoming students. Award amounts are based on academic achievement, including weighted high school GPA, and are renewable for students who continue meeting program requirements. The scholarship is designed to recognize academic excellence while helping make a WCU education more affordable and supporting students on their path to graduation.

 1889 Impact Grants 

The 1889 Impact Grant program was created so WCU colleges, departments, and units could access funds to support initiatives which align with WCU’s philanthropic priorities and further enhance the engagement of alumni and stakeholders to the philanthropic life of the university.  

Projects have ranged from supporting a new First Gen Club to providing an international learning experience for students who completed the Academic Success Program.
