Chief Information Officer

Chris has over 25 years of experience in information technology in public higher education. He is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµapp and a member of the university’s Executive Council. As CIO, he leads the planning, development, and support of technology systems that help the university meet its academic and administrative goals.

Before joining WCU in June 2024, Chris worked at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for 25 years, where he held several IT leadership roles. Most recently, he served as the IT Director for Student Affairs and previously as the ResNET Program Director.

Chris earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from UNC–Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Information Systems, from UNC Wilmington. He also completed the Certified Government CIO Program through the UNC School of Government.
