The WCU marching band was founded in 1938 with just 23 students. Today the award-winning Pride of the Mountains marching band has grown to almost 500 members, one of the largest in the United States. This "world’s largest funk-rock band" is widely regarded as one of the top marching bands in the Southeast for its elaborate field shows, with a crowd-pleasing medley of up-tempo pop tunes, electric guitars, singers and more.

Calling all high school band students! We are hosting our third annual Band Day on a Saturday in the Fall of 2025! Students have the opportunity to warm up with Pride of the Mountains marching band as well as perform in the Pre-Game show!
