Biography

Leigh Odom is the Department Head in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She joined the WCU faculty in 2008, and she is currently tenured at the Associated Professor rank.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Odom's teaching interests are related to acquired neurogenic communication disorders, including aphasia and cognitive impairments of dementia. She also enjoys teaching about intact and disordered human anatomy as it relates to communication.

Research Interests

Dr. Odom's scholarly interests are related to the treatment of acquired neurogenic communication disorders, treatment of aphasia, quality of life in acquired neurogenic communication disorders, and education for health professionals working with persons with dementia.
