Biography
Dr. Resa Chandler first completed her undergraduate BS and and a MS both in Biology
in invertebrate cytology while attending the University of NC at Charlotte. She decided
to pursue a higher degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Texas at Austin,
earning a MA and PhD in Kinesiology. She examined the effects of nutritional supplements
and resistance exercise on muscle physiology, performance, endocrinology, and cardiovascular
risk factors. The research she conducted while at UT has been cited as a 'significant
contribution' to the field of nutritional supplements by the International Journal
of Sport Nutrition.<br><br>Dr. Chandler has taught a wide variety of human science
courses in many different academic institutions. A passion for teaching and lifelong
learning has led Dr. Chandler to become a faculty fellow for the Coulter Faculty Commons
for Excellence in Teaching & Learning where she has taken on the role of creating
a mentoring program for WCU.
