Biography

Dr. Stuckey taught high school special education students with high-incidence disabilities for 12 years in the Atlanta area before earning her Ph.D. in Special Education in 2015 and transitioning to the university and teacher preparation. She moved to Cullowhee (and WCU) in 2015.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Stuckey enjoys preparing teacher candidates for licensure for K-12 teaching across all disciplines by teaching instructional methods for students with mild to moderate disabilities in inclusive general education settings.

Research Interests

Dr. Stuckey is interested in racially/ethnically minoritized children's language, reading, and social/emotional development, methods of enhancing positive teacher-student interactions, and pre-service teacher candidate development in Cultural Awareness and Culturally Responsive Teaching.
