Biography
Ashlee is the Program Director of Musical Theatre & Dance at Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵapp’s
School of Stage & Screen. She is the Founding Producing Artistic Lead of Calliope
Stage Company – a nonprofit professional theatre company in Sylva, North Carolina
as well as a freelance director, choreographer, and actor. She has worked on projects
with Broadway veterans, Regional LORT leaders, and 9-year-old budding North Carolina
playwrights, and her work has found its way into theaters in NYC (59E59, New Light
Theater Project, IRT Theatre), New York state (Pendragon Theatre), Chicago (Drury
Lane, North Shore Center, Provision, etc.), Milwaukee (Milwaukee Rep), Boston (Merrimack
Rep), the East Hamptons (Guild Hall), Los Angeles (Electric Lodge), Arizona (Arizona
Theatre Company), Ohio (Human Race), Austria, the UK (Edinburgh Fringe), in several
industrials and commercials, and right here in North Carolina. Her love lies in exploring
new works; supporting emerging artists; creating spaces to hold vulnerability and
authenticity; ferociously learning from artists of all ages around her; and doing
scary things way out of her league. She is a Resident Artist with New Light Theater
Project in NYC, an Ensemble Member Emeritus with Midsommer Flight (Chicago), an Associate
Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and an Actor's Equity Member
Candidate.
