Biography

Dr. Kathy Jaqua is dedicated to helping students become excellent secondary mathematics teachers. Starting in her initial work as a high school mathematics and English teacher and continuing in her long career as a mathematics professor at WCU, she is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Jaqua loves teaching geometry at all levels along with methods for teaching secondary mathematics. Teaching entry level mathematics courses is another favorite of hers.

Research Interests

Dr. Jaqua continues to be fascinated by two major areas of scholarly interest: identifying effective experiences to help students become effective secondary mathematics teacher and designing and implementing effective professional development for practicing teachers.
